Why Massage?

Treatment Room Massage

Each session is a personalized table massage in the comfort of my treatment room. The room is set up for a most relaxing and therapeutic experience. This table massage can be done over your clothes or, more commonly, on bare skin while draped. This is a great option for relaxation, medical therapeutic techniques and overall health. My all-inclusive sessions may include static cupping, glide cupping, fascia release techniques, and a combination of medical and relaxation myofascial techniques. All therapies are used as needed, consulted and requested by you.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is a suction therapy that helps to break up scar tissue, create space to increase circulation and move inflammation out of the area, works to release fascial restrictions and helps to restore the area to it's relaxed state. It can be a wonderful therapeutic technique to your customized massage. Although the pressure is controlled, it does have the potential of leaving temporary marks on the body. I am PESI certified in cupping and am happy to answer any questions you may have about it.

Fascia Release Techniques

Fascia is the body's scaffolding, holding everything in place. Fascia is what creates the adhesions (knots) in the body. The fascia release techniques I use consist of slow-holding fascia release (Barnes Method), to rapid movement techniques used with blunt fascia instruments.

Massage Benefits:

Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress-related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. Massage is an effective tool for managing this stress, which translates into:

  • Decreased anxiety.
  • Enhanced sleep quality.
  • Greater energy.
  • Improved concentration.
  • Increased circulation.
  • Reduced fatigue.

Massage can also help specifically address a number of health issues.

Bodywork can:

  • Alleviate low-back pain and improve range of motion.
  • Ease medication dependence.
  • Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow—the body's natural defense system.
  • Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles.
  • Help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts.
  • Improve the condition of the body's largest organ—the skin.
  • Increase joint flexibility.
  • Lessen depression and anxiety.
  • Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks.
  • Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation.
  • Reduce post-surgery adhesions and swelling.
  • Reduce spasms and cramping.
  • Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles.
  • Release endorphins—amino acids that work as the body's natural painkiller.
  • Relieve migraine pain.
